Altitude (scratch that), ATTITUDE Training

Jack Daniels once taught me a very important lesson that I will carry with me the rest of my life. Never take ten shots in a row after a ten mile run on an empty stomach. In all seriousness, that's not the Jack Daniels that I will be discussing here today. For those of you outside of the running world, the Jack Daniels I'm talking about is a well respected coach, physiologist, author, Olympian & family man. I had the pleasure of sharing many hours with Jack during my first few years ...

"Why so serious?", was one of the most memorable lines from The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight A friend recently told me I may not be representing my full personality in the 3 blogs I've posted so far. She may have a point. Part of the problem is my infrequent updating which I plan to remedy. I have only blogged when I have felt absolutely compelled to write. &nb...
Quis Custodiet Ipsos Custodes?
Apr 10 by Fasil Bizuneh
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? is a Latin phrase from the Roman poet Juvenal, which is literally translated as "Who will guard the guards themselves? I first came across the saying in Dan Brown's novel, Digital Fortress. It sprung forth from my subconscious As I sat on my couch Friday evening. I was watching rich men in nice suits shuffling from one room to the next in what seemed like a mad dash to avoid a government shutdown. It occurred to me that there were much larger issues at stake.  ...

If any of you have ever seen the movie, No Country For Old Men, then you have an idea of the kind of town I spent this past weekend in. At least the majority of it anyway, after a slight detour to Dallas due to the inclimate weather that is sweeping this great land of ours. I just ran the Edinburg All-American 10k this morning (2/5). An interesting name, considering elite field here has been historically almost entirely non-American. This was my 3rd year participating and as usual everyone invol...

This video is based on a parting letter written late in life by a young cancer patient, Matt Lazzara (4/2/82-2/15/04). It's also in remembrance to close friend who also passed of cancer, Joe Uff (4/12/77-4/12/08).

The Other Side is a book that tells the story of a relationship once good gone bad. It will be published with 2 covers in a flip book format. So once you reach the physical midpoint of the book, the text will appear inverted. Each chapter will contain the same conversations and differ only by the perspective of the male and female character's reaction and internal dialogue. It's a play on perspective with peeks into the lives and minds of the two main characters.
